Here is everything you need to know about tonight's Golden Globes
THE GOLDEN GLOBE Awards, which dole out awards to the best in film and television, kick off tonight.
It is by far the most fun awards ceremony of the season to watch, partly because attendees are allowed to have a tipple and partly because Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are serving as master of ceremonies.
Planning on watching?
Here’s everything you need to know.
Who are the favourites to win?
Boyhood Universal / YouTube Universal / YouTube / YouTube
Excitingly, it’s all rather up in the air this year.
Boyhood is the favourite for Best Motion Picture (Drama) but could be pipped to the post by civil rights drama Selma or The Imitation Game.
Birdman leads the way in Best Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical), though The Grand Budapest Hotel could also sneak its way to victory.
As for acting? Expect Julianne Moore, Michael Keaton, JK Simmons and Patricia Arquette to do well. Bear in mind, though: there’s always room for surprises.

Coverage of the red carpet arrivals begins on E! at 11pm. Expect awkward lines of questioning and manicams galore.
Hang on, what’s a ‘manicam’?
Giphy Giphy
Manicure camera, obviously. Or, a place for celebrities to show off their manicures.
Finally, can I watch the ceremony live?

The ceremony will not be aired live on television in Ireland, but they will be broadcast on RTÉ Two at 9pm tomorrow night.
Anyone staying up to keep up with the action should note that they won’t begin until 1am GMT and likely won’t be over until around 4am.
Make sure to keep an eye on DailyEdge.ie tomorrow for coverage of the Golden Globes.
